Spectrum provided early planning, budgeting, and full construction management services for the renovation of the Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center. Project included full Tenant Improvement buildout of the lower floor and the addition of an elevator to improve accessibility within the building.
Seattle Children’s Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center provides lifelong learning, education, and recreational activities for adults aged 18 and older with developmental disabilities.
The Adult Life Center offers weekly classes that support the continual development of social and life skills, promoting independence and enabling students with disabilities to keep learning and growing. Spectrum supported the Alyssa Burnett Center in expanding this important mission by managing the renovation of the facility. The renovation included the addition of three classrooms, a team room, a music room, and the installation of an elevator to improve mobility within the building.
Spectrum worked on behalf of the client to navigate several challenges during design and construction, such as the change of use permitting review, value engineering, value creation, and addressing structural modifications required for the elevator installation. The project was delivered on time and within budget, allowing the Alyssa Burnett Center to meet its pre-scheduled commitments.
